Growing up doesn’t mean growing old..

Friends always come in different ages. As I mature and being my life as a college student, I have discovered that age truely is nothing but a number. Yes, age can determine what you do as friends but it does not determine how strong your friendship can be.

So what if your friend could be your mother? That doesn’t mean you can’t go out with eachother. An older friend will keep you mature and you make her feel young again. An older friend is not someone you go to asking for sex advice or to help you find a fake id. But she is the woman you can go to for advice on how to not get your heart broken. She is the woman you can go shopping with and learn life lessons from.

So what if your friend is 2 or more years younger than you? Now you get to be the “mother,” teach her everything you know, and tell her about the lessons you’ve learned. Of course, you need to watch what you say and don’t try to influence her life to be like yours. But somestimes it is nice to be the experienced one.

In life you will be presented with friends in all different shapes, sizes, colors, ages and backgrounds. It is up to you to maintain these friendships and use them to mold yourself into the true person you are. Every friend is a gift and should be cherished as so.
